| With the EU entrance in the 2007 Bulgaria has become a hot spot not only for bargain hunters, but also for long term manufacturing and services companies. Established foreign manufacturers as the German Lebher, Schneider Electric, the American Ideal Standard, the Spanish Roca and the British Socotab have already huge manufacturing bases in Bulgaria. Leading supermarkets are not staying behind and Metro, Billa, Kaufland, Carrefour are already competing for the Bulgarian consumer. The foreign investment in this new EU member is growing every year and is bolstered from the lowest corporation tax in Europe - 10%, only comparable to some offshore destinations. | |
 | The location of the Bulgaria is another factor which makes it an ideal base for logistic companies or alternative energy companies. While proximity to West European markets and the affluent Gulf countries has already been exploited from number of logistics companies, the country's energy resources still needs to be developed. A few foreign investors are building dams and power stations, but untapped opportunities are presented from the wind source on the Black Sea coast and the countless sunny days with which the country boasts. Land, agricultural and industiral is relatevely cheap in comperason to other parts of Europe while price of electricity is higher than some parts in the continent.
